21 Feb 03 BAJA Mexico We have had a amazing time on the Baja What can be better than swimming with dolphins, Sailing with whales, snorkelling with Sea Lions, Surfing at sunset and off-road riding across the mountains and desserts. As our tour of the BAJA Finishes we would like to thank everybody who has contributed to a wonderful two months. Firstly we would like to thank the Police, Federals and all the Mexican authorities who have eased our passage across the Baja. We are now approaching nearly two thousand miles on the Baja Mexico and encountered numerous road blocks and checkpoints and was not once hassled or delayed, and on each occasion we where greeted with a smile and enthusiasm. Contrary to what we have been previously told we where never asked to pay a bribe to the police. The Baja in our experience is one of the safest, friendliest and possibly the most beautiful place in the world and we look forward to returning in late 2003 after challenging North America. We would also like to thank all the Mexicans, Americans and Canadians we have met these past few months for your kindness, warmth and generosity. It would be unfair to single out individuals because without exception we have been treated magnificently be every body we have met. We thank all of you who have offered us a place to stay whilst we are challenging America and Canada.
Kelly and Annie Steel In the past two months We have completed over a 1000 miles off road on our BMW GS motorbikes which started at San Felipe and continued South of Coco's Corner following in the steps of last years Baja 1000 where our friend and my daughters hero "Annie Steel" the Rally Princess from Sweden Participated. We missed you last year Annie but hopefully we will be there support you in 2003 !!
26 Jan 2003 La Paz Our time has been spent exploring the narrow streets of this beautiful Mexican fishing town and relaxing to South American music in our favourite cafe bar. The local Fish Taco's are the nicest we have had any ware on the Baja. Everybody has been so friendly, including the Police and Army, yet again all the negative stories we heard prior to our entry into Baja Mexico from the USA are proving to be completely unfounded. Which isn't a surprise as the citizens of every country we have visited during our nine month journey have always warned us about the preceding country, and it’s done with such regularity that we just laugh now, because it’s always proved to be unfounded!

Latest News from the Baja - Pete's Camp, Tyres and GPS
We are being made to feel extremely welcome from just about everybody we meet on the Baja and all the Mexicans we meet are the so laid back and friendly. Had a brilliant time in San Felipe on the east coast of the Baja and was also sponsored three nights by PETE'S CAMP a RV park just north of San Fan Felipe, so a special thank you to Paul the manager and Rafael the owner.
I have now severe front tyre problems due to the harsh off road conditions on the east coast of Baja. My back and front tyre have taken some nasty rips and it could have been much worse if it wasn't for the generosity of Ling from new Mexico doing the Off-road circuit on his Adventurer who kindly donated me his spare rear tyre with a simple message " Its my pleasure to help you - you are going around the world and so I feel you need it more than me" Fantastic gesture.
