27 DECEMBER 00 Called into see BILL STACEY NORRIS OCEAN BMW-PLYMOUTH to discuss my colour scheme for my new 41 litre tank. I really want to maintain a GS colour design. So what I have decided to do is keep the mandarin colour but add a silver flash in the same design as the 2001 (BLUE) R1150GS. Its a real big tank, so I am sure the new design will enhance the bike looks. Or should I go for something more adventurous ? 18 DECEMBER 00 What a DAY ! Firstly, received first thing my Electrical Heated Clothing from Jeff GERBING (for Siberia not the Sahara), followed an hour later by a recorded delivery item from AUTOCOM, my Premier communication and sound system had finally arrived (Just the device for the Pan American highway). A phone call from John at BRACKEN LONDON offering support for my off road equipment and to top it all, a really enjoyable evening at the WEARY FRIAR PUBLIC HOUSE in PILLINGTON (Cornwall) in the company of "JOHN DEACON - BMW SPONSORED RACER - PARIS - DAKAR FAME". 03 DECEMBER 00 Received Touratech Catalogue today. So much choice, every thing you could possible think of is here (see links page for contact info). There cant be anything these guys have left out so if adventure touring is your thing order the catalogue, you will not be disappointed. 02 DECEMBER 00 I Tried it today, very impressive, a lot of GPS / Navigational functions for the Price. I have notice the GPS speed reads about 10 % more than my bikes speed meter, I wonder which one is wrong ? The bikes I Guess. I have been very pleased how accurate this unit is, it follows the base map precisely. Having now calibrated the unit in numerous locations and returned to check GPS settings I am happy to report 100% success rate. I cant imagine any other unit beating this for accuracy. The perfect overland companion.
